Most definitely. Do I wear it? Yes, I do, especially during the summer, when the fragrance best unfolds itself being worn by the sea.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Defining floral and fruity notes as feminine or spicy notes as masculine is quite an archaic notion, which is the product of years and years of powerful marketing towards gender ideology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And according to Kim-Van Dang, owner of KVD NYC: <em>\u201cFlowers and woods come from nature. So, why is it that men\u2019s scents have had a monopoly on woods, and women\u2019s scents have had a monopoly on flowers? The answer is one word: marketing.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Lately, or more specifically, for the past three years, the unisex craze has been on its rise. More and more people would love to differentiate themselves from the standard gender boundaries and wear freely, <\/span>what<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> is considered more masculine or even feminine scents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">So how did unisex even become a thing, and shall we consider this the next trend that will come and go with the seasons or is it here to stay?<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Unisex throughout time<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Let\u2019s get this straight, unisex isn\u2019t something new. In the 1910s, Gabrielle Chanel set a non-binary tone to women\u2019s fashion by introducing them to trousers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the fragrance market, <strong>Calvin Klein were the pioneers of the concept of gender neutrality, releasing their unisex fragrance &#8211; <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/fragrances.bg\/calvin-klein-ck-one-edt-50ml-for-men-and-women\" target=\"_blank\">CK One<\/a><\/span> in 1994. <\/strong>The fragrance, which contains notes of bergamot, jasmine, and nutmeg is a classic favorite for both men and women till this day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And then in 2015, Calvin Klein once again rose against the status quo and defied gender boundaries with their newest launch of a genderless fragrance &#8211; <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/fragrances.bg\/calvin-klein-ck2-edt-100ml-for-men-and-women-without-package\" target=\"_blank\">CK 2<\/a><\/span>.<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2622 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/fragrances.bg\/blog\/venera\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/Calvin-Klein-CK2-EDT.png\" alt=\"\u0423\u043d\u0438\u0441\u0435\u043a\u0441 \u043f\u0430\u0440\u0444\u044e\u043c\u0438 \u043e\u0442\u043d\u043e\u0432\u043e \u043d\u0430 \u043c\u043e\u0434\u0430 - calvin klein ck2\" width=\"980\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venera.gr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/Calvin-Klein-CK2-EDT.png 980w, https:\/\/venera.gr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/Calvin-Klein-CK2-EDT-300x153.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Between Twiggy\u2019s pixie cut, David Bowie\u2019s androgynous appearances (remember the Ziggy Stardust persona?), Prince and Yves Saint Laurent\u2019s male-inspired female tuxedos in the 60s, the topic of gender-neutrality has been touched upon more than a few times throughout the years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There was a slight hint of a revolution in the <\/span>60\u2019s<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> against the rigid gender stereotypes, which were massively marketed in the 50s. Pierre Cardin and Paco Rabanne both embraced the gender-neutral fashion, introducing sleek and minimalist silhouettes, and very soon the fashion trend moved from the runways in Paris to US department stores.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But then again, the genderless fashion went away as quickly as it came and lasted for about a decade until the mid <\/span>70\u2019s<span style=\"color: #000000;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The rise of <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/fragrances.bg\/unisex-fragrances\" target=\"_blank\">unisex fragrances<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The unisex fragrance trend comes just at the right time when more and <strong>more women realize that their femininity is not defined by the color pink, unicorns or flowers. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">With the conversation about gender fluidity gaining more traction and popularity, people are opening up about their own preferences and demanding more freedom of choice that is not defined by gender.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fragrances.bg\/blog\/venera\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/Bvlgari-Eau-Parfumee-Au-The-Bleu.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2623 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/fragrances.bg\/blog\/venera\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/Bvlgari-Eau-Parfumee-Au-The-Bleu.png\" alt=\"Bvlgari-Eau-Parfumee-Au-The-Bleu\" width=\"980\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venera.gr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/Bvlgari-Eau-Parfumee-Au-The-Bleu.png 980w, https:\/\/venera.gr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/Bvlgari-Eau-Parfumee-Au-The-Bleu-300x153.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fast forward to the 00s, with celebrities, such as Miley Cyrus, Caitlyn Jenner and Ruby Rose stirring up the debate about gender neutrality, we saw luxurious fashion designers and perfume houses, like <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/fragrances.bg\/chanel\" target=\"_blank\">Chanel<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/fragrances.bg\/burberry\" target=\"_blank\">Burberry<\/a><\/span>, Tom Ford <\/span>and<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Yves Saint Laurent \u201cgo wild\u201d and catch up on the trend by creating fragrances that are \u201canonymous\u201d and have no limits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>As the lines between \u201chis and hers\u201d are getting blurred in society, this naturally takes its toll on the way people shop. <\/strong>They are willing to explore their uniqueness and go beyond gender boundaries and be cool through shapes, colors, and style. In 2015 alone, there were 750 new unisex launches in the fragrance market, as opposed to 314 in 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The numbers speak for themselves, as the Liberty London department store announced that their sales of unisex fragrances have increased with 40% in 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Eleanor Dwyer, a US beauty and fashion research associate at Euromonitor, very accurately commented: <em>\u201cUnisex fragrances are popular with consumers who care about expressing their individual personality through their fragrance; they don\u2019t want to be assigned a standard fragrance based on their gender, but would rather find a scent with unique personal appeal.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Is the future of fragrances gender-neutral?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fragrances.bg\/blog\/venera\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/unisex-parfiumi-otnovo-na-moda-1-fragrances.bg_.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2624 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/fragrances.bg\/blog\/venera\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/unisex-parfiumi-otnovo-na-moda-1-fragrances.bg_.png\" alt=\"\u0423\u043d\u0438\u0441\u0435\u043a\u0441 \u043f\u0430\u0440\u0444\u044e\u043c\u0438 \u043e\u0442\u043d\u043e\u0432\u043e \u043d\u0430 \u043c\u043e\u0434\u0430 - unisex fragrance\" width=\"980\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/venera.gr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/unisex-parfiumi-otnovo-na-moda-1-fragrances.bg_.png 980w, https:\/\/venera.gr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/unisex-parfiumi-otnovo-na-moda-1-fragrances.bg_-300x153.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This year, fragrances go beyond gender.
